I didn’t have anything to lose to gain more knowledge on how this could work into my lifestyle and growing business.
I recently interviewed Licensed Esthetician, Professional Makeup Artist, and Independent Spa Owner Melody Sopa. She has incorporated Motives Beauty Brands to help service her clients on an entirely new level. Melody is breaking boundaries within the beauty industry and continues to build her unbreakable empire. Way to go, Melody! Thank you for inspiring us and constantly helping women around you to succeed.
How were you introduced to Motives?
I learned about Motives from a good friend of mine back in 2012. I was building my makeup Artistry business in the Milwaukee area and she was sharing how it would be such a smart business move- to get paid to use professional make up and to offer it to clients for home use. Naturally, I was skeptical. It almost sounded too good to be true! So, I told her that I’d need to get my hands on the makeup, wear it, and see how it applies on others. After working in the Nordstrom cosmetic department, I had a good understanding of what was good and what was lackluster.
What made you want to learn more and align yourself with Motives Cosmetics?
How have you leveraged education & business events to build your belief/ propel your success?
Being a busy full time Esthetician and makeup artist, taking advantage of our events is huge for me. I can only do so much on my own, so I do my best to keep my team plugged into trainings and events. This business is built for busy people, so having my team and guests plug into online or in person events is my saving grace.
In what ways has incorporating Motives into your business changed things for you?
What do you feel is the best way to grow your business?
I believe the best way to expand is to lead by example. I have people reaching out that I shared Motives with five plus years ago telling me that they have watched me grow and are inspired by my business. I focus on education and helping my clients and being the product of the product, and constantly putting myself out on social media so others can’t help but see my growth in my business. So naturally, other people that have similar interests and are in the beauty industry are drawn to that and want to learn what I am doing to see if it is a good fit for them.
What are you most excited about in regard to long term goals?
